The location chip in the top menu (next to the search box) sets your area. Pick your country and the directory and community boards show your part of the world first; pick Everywhere to browse globally.
It's remembered on your device — no account needed — and you can change it as often as you like.
Waiting for a lost cat to be found, a sofa to be given away, or a new plumber in town? On any browse page, save your search and we'll email you when new matching posts appear — one tidy message, not a flood.
Your saved alerts are listed in My account, where you can delete any you no longer need. Every alert email also carries an unsubscribe link for that search.
The bell in the top menu lights up when something has happened since your last visit: a post of yours was approved (or needs attention), someone replied to your interest post, requested your giveaway, responded to your Lost & Found post, or sent your business an enquiry.
Click the bell to see what's new — visiting the page marks things as seen.
Torus Lookup is free to use, and always will be. If you'd like to help keep it running, the Donate button in the top menu (when donations are open) lets you give any amount from £5 to £1,000 — payments are handled by Stripe on their own secure page, so your card details never touch our servers.
