Community boards

Events, Lost & Found, Free stuff and shared interests — how to post and how replies reach you.

Community events

Meetups, classes, fairs, fundraisers — if the community is welcome, it belongs on the events board. Give the event a date (today or later), a venue, and a description of what's happening and who it's for. You can attach up to 3 photos — the venue, a poster, or what to expect.

Past events drop off the board automatically, so there's nothing to tidy up afterwards.

Lost & Found

Lost a pet, keys, a phone? Found something? Post it on Lost & Found with where and when, plus up to 3 photos — the first becomes the main picture on the board.

  • Found something? Hold back one detail in your description, so a claimant can prove it's theirs.
  • Lost something? You can offer a small reward — even "£20 thank-you" motivates people to look.
  • Responses come through the site and are checked first, so your email stays private until you choose to reply.

When you're reunited, mark the post as such — it's the best part of the board.

Free stuff — give things away

Everything on the Free stuff board is free — no selling, no swaps, just passing things on instead of throwing them away. Describe the item honestly (condition, size, quirks), say what area it's collected from (not your exact address), and add up to 3 photos.

People request items through the site; requests are checked and then land in your account. When it's gone, mark it Gone — or re-list it if a collection falls through.

People with an interest like me

Looking for fellow stargazers, chess players, vintage-tractor restorers? Post on the shared interests board: pick from around 300 interest categories, say what you're into and who you'd like to hear from.

Replies come through the site and are checked first — your email address is never shown publicly, and stays hidden until you choose to write back. Before meeting anyone in person, read meeting people safely — it matters.

Post expiry and renewal

To keep every board fresh, posts have a shelf life: business listings last 90 days and interest posts 60 days. Before anything lapses we email you a one-click renewal link — clicking it puts the post straight back, no re-approval needed.

Anything that has lapsed can also be renewed from My account, where every post you've made shows its status. Lapsed posts aren't deleted — they're just resting until you renew them.
